AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY

My infatuation with cars began about the age of ten. My father traded cars virtually every two years & he allowed me to keep them neat and clean. This, of course required me to drive the vehicles in and out of the garage. I secured a Jr. license at age 15 & never looked back.

After graduating from college, I worked as a secondary school teacher of Science. The syllabus included teaching the workings of the internal combustion engine. My career changed when I joined a phamaceutical company as a sales representative. This naturally included significant driving & also necessitated changing cars every two years. Six cars later, I moved to Portage Michigan-- company home base. Serving in a variety of management positions, I traveled extensively throughout the USA, Europe and Asia. During that time I had the opportunity to drive some interesting autos in cities like Munich, Berlin, Milan, Sydney, Paris and London. My current vocation is as a management consultant for Pharma/Biotech companies. In this capacity, I have had many driving opportunities throughout the US. As a senior driver, I have taken  & benefited from many defensive driving programs.

RACETRACK

After completing defensive driving program, participants line-up to experience higher speeds, steering, and braking control with a veteran instructor. This further enhances understanding the capabilities of your vehicle.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING PROGRAMS

All defensive driving programs are valuable. Some focus on teens; others are for seniors & other drivers. Most of us have not received any additional driver training since we took Driver's Ed in high school. Much has changed--especially the construction & safety features built-in to newer vehicles. Courses include how to avoid problems & also how to manage skids & panic stops. My book, "Take Back Our Roads," describes many of the available programs in the US.

NEW TEEN DRIVERS

Teens have four times the rate of fatal accidents as compared to drivers over 20 years old. They may feel invulnerable & immune to disaster or they may actually have minds that are not yet fully developed. An excellent national teen driving program, Tire Rack - "Street Survival," is authorized by the BMW CCA Foundation. Much more information plus driving course diagrams are found in my book at: www.Createspace.com/3341679
